English as a Second Language (ESL) is an instructional

program for  non-native speakers of English who need

support to navigate successfully in the classroom.

ICS offers ESL to a limited number of students each

year. During the admissions process, the student’s

English language abilities are assessed through

various methods. Students who score below a

certain level may be required to enroll in the

ESL program.

The goal of the ESL program is to help our students attain a certain

level of English proficiency in the areas of speaking, listening, reading,

and writing and to bring them to the grade-appropriate academic level

through small group support.
